PROF. ATU VISITS DIGITAL BRIDGE INSTITUTE (DBI), SEEKS TECHNICAL PARTNERSHIP FOR ADVANCED ICT LEARNING

…Congratulates Daser on Well-Deserved Appointment

Director of the APUDI Institute for Peace Studies and Social Rehabilitation (APIS), Prof. Danladi Abok Atu, paid a courtesy visit to the President and CEO of the Digital Bridge Institute (DBI), Mr. David Daser, to explore avenues for technical partnership in ICT capacity building. He also congratulated Mr. Daser—a distinguished son of Plateau State—on his recent appointment by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to head the DBI.

Speaking during the visit, Prof. Atu emphasized APIS’ commitment to incorporating ICT into its research and academic programs, in alignment with the global push toward digital transformation. According to him, “ICT has become indispensable, and APIS, as a leading research institute, is ready to harness the vast potential of the ICT sector by equipping its students with relevant digital skills to solve modern challenges.”

Prof. Atu described DBI as being at the forefront of Nigeria’s ICT revolution, noting that APIS is eager to partner with the institute to make ICT training and certification an integral part of its postgraduate programs.

In his response, Mr. David Daser welcomed the proposed collaboration, affirming DBI’s openness to strategic partnerships that align with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Tinubu. He reiterated DBI’s vision to promote digital literacy across Nigeria and ensure inclusivity in technological advancement.

Mr. Daser also conducted Prof. Atu and his delegation on a guided tour of DBI’s facilities, showcasing the resources available to support advanced ICT learning.

Prof. Atu was accompanied by Dr. Joshua Bakut, Advancement and Program Officer at APIS.

It is noteworthy that Mr. Daser previously served as the pioneer Director-General of the Plateau State Information and Communication Technology Development Agency (PICTDA), a position he held during the administration of Governor Simon Bako Lalong, where Prof. Danladi Atu served as Secretary to the Government of Plateau State.
